Kids enjoying an outdoor pool. Maybe that is what we should be focusing on instead of the extravagant indoor aquatic center.

Proposition 1 isn't about kids enjoying a pool, it's being done so the FOP board adults can control our tax dollars without further voter input through the formation of a Metropolitan Park District.

I just read that a Town of Twisp Public Works employee said that the Wagner pool can be fixed, leaks stopped. Expensive but it can be done.

Establishment of an Metropolitan Park District has always been about developing recreational infrastructure to attract more tourists. That was true in 2014 when this issue was defeated and it's true now only the objective have been masked behind " it's for the children".

Take a Look at who is supporting Proposition 1 and who stand to gain the most money if it passes. They are people already involved in commercial recreation or run a business that caters to Recreational tourists such a ski and bicycle sale/rental shops,and Mountain ski and climbing guide services.

Two of the FOP board members have vested interests in North Cascade Heli-ski and North Cascade Mountain Guides. Both of those companies had no problem abusing the public Trust by violating their special use permits with NCH also violating the law as it damaged the mountain environment.

These are just facts.

Your last comment stating that prop 1 is about approving the formation of a MPD and not about a for or against vote on constructing a pool, is an excellent point.

Most of us support building a pool, not a mega spa for tourists that the property owners will pay for, forever. For many low income people, its a burden that further adds stress to their lives.

The Wagner pool, still in operation, never in decades needed the formation of a MPD to exist. The FOP arguments that they deleted don't hold water.

The was nothing uncivil about the points you were making, and they banned you from further posting. Why?

Speaking as someone who isn't actively opposed to a pool here, I do find the antics of FOTP on their FB page distasteful and am not impressed.

So even if I did support a pool in the future (and I would like to) I probably wouldn't support it if the same people were pushing it.

I too, noticed that 8 comments were not visible. Comments that they did not agree with is my guess. I did see part of your discussion Ray, but then it went away.

That has not yet been my experience.

A comment saying "No on Proposition 1" is visible on my feed as of 4:15 p.m. 08.05.

It is important to not criticize individuals and to be as factual as possible.

Everyone needs this to be a civil discussion regardless of differences of opinion.

The facts point to poor behavior on the part of the individuals involved in trying to gain enormous power and access to tax payer money without voter input.

Two of the families who have spouses serving on the FOP board were already given the public Trust. One family owned company violated that public trust by breaking the law and damaging the environment. Both didn't seem to care that contractual rules granted to use public land applied to them.These are the facts.

Don't you think its important for the voters to know the character of the people who desire this unchecked power? Or should voters just blindly trust people because on the surface, that Mega Spa sounds really nice to them. Oh and look at the children in this smoke screen video aren't they having fun. Look at them don't ask questions.

Okanogan County already has a Recreation Commision where voters decide who controls their tax money by holding elected officials accountable for their actions. That accountability doesn't exist in this proposal to establish a Metropolitan Park District, which is the nature of that municipality. More facts.

I have screenshots of the discussion... Just letting folks know that while there are some good folks in FOTP, there are also some zealots in their group.

I will always strive to get the true facts out to the public and let them decide at the November election.
