Re: Why????
I don't think it is (or was) a bandwidth problem. Felt more like certain database writes are very slow.

Re: Why????
With the CURRENT server configuration... quad processors and 32GB memory... security countermeasures... and if you have decent internet/cell speed (I have starlink and att)... there should be minimal time in loading...
It would be interesting to see if response was different between att, verizon, starlink, nci datacom, and methownet...
ATT and starlink are very fast for me for bb access.
geopeeker...
godaddy resource usage...
Site AW Stats...

Re: Why????
I do not think we are talking about the same problem.
There have been multiple times when I have had to log in almost a dozen times, with sometimes long delays of twenty to thirty seconds. All that to just post or edit a single message.
Clearing my browser cache seems to have corrected it, but I'm still not clear as to exactly why. And also, strangely, the problem has gone away when I log in on my cell phone as well even though I did not clear the browser cache there. So something more is going on.
Posts and edits still seem slower than they should be, even without having to fight with the authentication system each time.

Re: Why????
It's been that way for me since the beginning, no biggy unless a person is so self important they can't be a little inconvenienced, heaven forbid a person, because they are so important in their eyes, they can't take an extra 2 seconds to log in

Re: Why????
Really strange... Things working totally fine for me on iPhone Safari and laptop Chrome. Don't know why you are having issues. Many device settings can affect response. Usually login memory requires cookies and there are settings that affect those. Other than that, I just don't know.
Anybody else currently having issues?

Re: Why????
Still happening after clearing browser cache. Though somewhat less frequently.

Re: Why????
If you check "remember me" at login, it should not require you to log in on future visits.

Re: Why????
The Board was being "attacked" the past week... I upgraded/moved the server and am now also using Cloudflare services to prevent future issues.
Look at May 15 peak... Crazy
Who is online
In total there are 107 users online :: 1 registered, 0 hidden and 106 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)
Most users ever online was 3194 on Thu May 15, 2025 6:15 am
Maybe clear browser cache and login and should return to normal expectations. The system was really screwy during the attack... Also lost a few posts during the migration... Of course Ken thought it was a liberal conspiracy and he was being singled out and censored...

Re: Why????
Ray, what exactly is going on here? Something is really busted with the BB session management and it is interfering with my ability to even use the site.
The symptoms are:
1. Odd pauses when I pull up threads or especially when I post.
2. Being logged out very shortly after logging in.
3. Not being able to post because phpbb thinks I am not logged in when I literally logged in less than 30 seconds previously.
4. Loss of composed posts in the editor when this all happens.

Why????
Why do I need to log in multiple times each time I post a message or edit a message?
