Level 2 Be Ready to Evacuate has been issued for a fire burning in the area South of Alta Lake, Pateros, WA.
Date 07-03-2025. Current Time 03:10 PM.

Apple Acres Fire is active on the north side of Arbuckle Mountain, approximately one mile north of Wells Dam. The fire is moving north.

Level 2 (Be Ready) is being issued for the persons north of Wells Dam to State Route 153, Alta Lake east to State Route 97.

Persons should be aware of their surroundings and take action if needed.

If you feel unsafe, leave now.

Be cautious of emergency vehicles responding.

This is a Level 2, Be Ready to Evacuate.

Do not wait for door to door notification, take action if needed.

This may be your only notice, be ready to evacuate.

Emergency Management will be monitoring the situation and will update when needed.

APPLE ACRES ROAD: Antoine Creek, from Apple Acres Road to Quiet Valley Road in Okanogan County, is on a Level 2 evacuation notice. Level 2 asks that people in the impacted area be prepared to leave if the fire should approach their properties. This is a change from the previous fire advisory for much of that area.
WSDOT continues to show that US 97 between mileposts 245-250 (Wells Dam) is reduced to a single lane, with alternating traffic guided by a pilot car. https://wsdot.com/Travel/Real-time/Map/

Level 1 ADVISORY issued for a fire burning in the area of State Route 97 near Wells Dam, Pateros, WA.

Apple Acres Fire started in Chelan County near Antoine Creek Road, currently burning along State Route 97 near Wells Dam moving north.

Okanogan County Emergency Managment is monitoring its progress along with the Sheriff's Office and Fire District 15.

State Route 97 is closed from the North end of Starr Road south to State Route 97A.

Level 1 Advisory (not an Evacuation) is issued for the Starr Road and Alta Lake area.

Persons should be aware of their surroundings and take action if needed.

Be cautious of emergency vehicles responding.

This is a Level 1 ADVISORY. (Not an Evacuation)

Apple Acres Fire in Chelan (posted 5:35 p.m. on July 2)

Evacuations:

Level 1 Fire Advisory: For all of Antoine Creek Road near Chelan. Level 1 means there is a brushfire in the area and residents should monitor the situation.
Level 2 Evaucation Alert (get ready): For the east side of highway 97 to Wells Dam entrance.
Road Closures:

Intersection of Apple Acres and Antoine Creek roads is closed.
Highway 97 is closed from Apple Acres Road to the Chelan County line, or just past Wells Dam. Also closed is the southbound lane of Highway 153 near Pateros.
Avoid the area so firefighters can work to contain the brush fire.
Keep up on evacuation levels on the Chelan County Emergency Incidents Map.
