At least part of the reason the US Space Command ended up in CO, at Colorado Springs, is that the center for NORAD (No American Air Defense) is located there….under Cheyenne Mountain, in a bunker designed to withstand the largest nuclear blast. I was a kid in the 60’s in CO when that facility was being built.
Moving it elsewhere makes zero sense.
Although, yeah….tit for tat….

Trumpland Diaries:
"STUPID ALERT UPDATE
We have some more information on Trump’s baffling decision to move Space Command from Colorado Springs to Huntsville, AL, and however dumb you’re thinking the reason is, let me assure you that it’s eleventeen times dumber.
You ready for this?
It’s because Colorado has mail-in voting.
That’s the entire explanation!
“The problem I have with Colorado, one of the big problems, they do mail-in voting, they went to all mail-in voting, so they have automatically crooked elections," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office today. "We can’t have that when a state is for mail-in voting, that means they want dishonest elections, because that’s what that means. So that played a big factor also.”
For context, Colorado introduced universal mail-in ballots in 2013. A study published by the Heritage Foundation in 2020 determined there had been exactly NINE cases of voter fraud - all of which were caught due to CO’s ultra-strict signature verification requirements.
But Trump lost Colorado in the last three elections, plus they have 2 Democratic senators. Which means all their elections are rigged. Obviously.
BUT WAIT, IT GETS EVEN DUMBER!
We’ve already spent $127 million building out the Space Command infrastructure in Colorado and making it operational. Estimates for building additional permanent facilities there were ~$1.5 billion.
Estimates for relocating all the equipment to Alabama - and building the necessary infrastructure there from scratch - are in the $3-4 billion range.
So, American taxpayers are gonna waste about $2.5 billion because Colorado didn’t vote for Trump. "
