Re: Sanewashing and a Truth Sandwich
Whole lotta lying going on. This really needs to be brought to the forefront. Lies have been pointed out but it will not reach the MAGA crowd. They will believe anything Heir Trump will tell them. The cult is alive and well.

Trump is charging that Biden and his admin are not reaching out and helping with the Helene disaster.
'The MAGAts are out in force with Hurricane based lies and disinformation. Resist!
“…“…Kemp himself told reporters that Biden had called yesterday. “And he just said, ‘Hey, what do you need?’” Kemp told him, “We got what we need, we’ll work through the federal process. He offered that if there’s other things that we need just to call him directly, which I appreciate that.”
South Carolina governor Henry McMaster, a Republican, called it “a great team effort…the federal government is helping us well, they’re embedded with us. There is no asset out there that we haven’t already accessed.”
Republican governor of Virginia Glenn Youngkin told reporters that he was “incredibly appreciative of the rapid response and cooperation from the federal team at FEMA.”
Asheville, North Carolina, mayor Esther Manheimer told CNBC “We have support from outside organizations, other fire departments sending us resources, the federal government as well. So it's all-hands-on-deck, and it is a well-coordinated effort, but it is so enormous….”
FEMA spokesperson Jaclyn Rothenberg responded to a post claiming that FEMA was refusing to help certain Americans, saying: “This is a lie. We help all people regardless of background as fast as possible before, during and after disasters. That is our mission and that is our focus.”

I just want to know who is actually going to vote for this?
Seriously, what more do you need to know? And how do you argue with a straight face that it is okay for someone who goes off like that having control of a nuclear arsenal with thousands of such weapons?

Well said David and yes, the media is not doing their job and have normalized what Trump says. The talking heads discussing their opinions and the polls as if nothing was amiss. But it is very amiss.

Re: Sanewashing and a Truth Sandwich
I think one of the problems is that our society and culture are really bad at processing situations like this. If you've ever had the experience of watching a family member, friend, or coworker go through something like this you'll know exactly what I am talking about.
Another mistake is thinking that we need to diagnose what is going on. We do not. All we need to do is say that is Not Okay, Not Normal, and Not Safe.
Bluntly, the better part of a hundred million people saw all they needed to know on September 10th. We saw this guy get upset and go on a rant about some people eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. Which was Not True, also Not Okay, Not Normal, and definitely Not Safe. Anyone else who pulled something like that would be out of consideration for most any job. And might well lose whatever job they have.

Sanewashing and a Truth Sandwich
The new term 'sanewashing' has caught on as a way to describe how the media has been trying to contextualize Trump's lies and word salad
