Trump's defenses have been that he hardly knew Epstein and never flew on the Lolita Express until pictures and documentation arrived.
Probably the simplest reason why he has never sued any outlet or victim for defamation is that to do sue would subject him to Discovery before trial and Discovery or any form of sunlight has never been a winning move for him. Without a doubt, if the DoJ had ever followed up on what we now see are credible charges and leads way back in the 90's or even when Epstein was prosecuted the followup civil lawsuits by victims would have been hefty against Trump.

And on Christmas the "PEACE" president greenlit strikes against Nigeria and oh btw, his reasoning that there were record number of attacks against Christians there so he was justified fell apart quickly as it was pointed out that more Muslims were attacked.
