Anyone have numbers of how many homeless there are in the U?S.?

Just saying:

Boise metro area population: 764_000
Portland metro area population: 3_259_000
Seattle metro area population: 4_019_000

So there is some difference of scale present here.

Boise average rent: $1612
Portland average rent: $1763
Seattle average rent: $2233

Although probably a bigger factor than actual rent prices is that it is easier to evict someone for nonpayment of rent in Idaho than it is in Oregon or Washington. Basically in Washington at this point it is impossible to evict someone for nonpayment of rent. So nobody in their right mind is going to put out a home for rent here.

Portland and Seattle leaders have failed miserably with their homeless policies... Looks like Boise is a different story...
